Description:  One of the most outstanding places to ride in the South Bay with wonderful single track/narrow path trails and spectacular views of Santa Clara and Coyote Valley.  A combination of forested canyons and open grassy hills, the park has something for everyone, despite there being only 8 miles of trails. The main trails of the park consist of a 4.8 mile loop made up of portions of the Longwall Canyon, Bald Peaks, and Catamount trailswhich climbs to the highest point in the park.  The loop is 2.2 miles single track/narrow path and 2.6 miles fire road.  The loop is much steeper if ridden counter clockwise and fun to ride in both directions.  We have three recommended rides, The 1000 Footer, a Medium Ride, and the Big Ride. The easier 1000 footer ride takes the relatively flat Longwall Canyon trail from the parking lot to the loop, then does the easier side of the loop as an out and back.  The more difficult Medium and Big Rides take the Mayfield Trail from the parking lot, which climbs over a ridge before descending to the loop. Longwall Canyon Trail provides an easier path than Mayfield Trail to and from the loop if desired.  Restrooms at parking area.  The park is adjacent to Calero County Park, which provides a third entrance to the loop through the Chinsantuk Peak Trail (see Calero County Park).

In the wet season: Trails are often closed after a rain

Directions:  South on McKean Rd., right turn on Casa Loma Rd to parking lot.  A link to the parking location in Google Maps is here.
