Mt Umunhum Challenge Ride Turn by Turn:
- Start at the Hacienda Entrance parking lot in Almaden Quicksilver County Park. Take the Mine Hill Trail 1.8 miles fire road, climb.
- Left on Castillero Trail. 0.5 mile, fire road, climb
- Straight onto Wood Rd. Trail 1.5 miles, fire road, rolling
- Enter the Wood Rd. parking lot of Almaden Quicksilver Park. On the north side of the lot there is a single track connector trail that takes you 0.1 mile to Hicks Rd.
- Cross Hicks Rd to the small Sierra Azul parking lot. Take the Woods Trail from the lot. 3.0 miles, fire road, rolling.
- Left on Barlow Road Trail 1.8 miles, fire road, climb.
- Right on Mt. Umunhum Trail 3.3 miles, narrow path, climb
- Right on Mt. Umunhum Rd. to the peak, paved road, climb
- Turn around, return the same route. 12.4 miles.
