Description: Arastradero is a great destination for beginner to intermediate mountain bikers. A Palo Alto City park open to all visitors, Arastradero offers a variety of dirt and gravel roads as well as relatively smooth single tracks. Most of the climbs in the park are somewhat easy. With just 10 miles of interweaving trails, the park is small, but offers a lot of riding experiences packed in a limited area. One of the great features of Arastradero is the presence of single track without steep climbs.

We have two recommended rides in Arastradero: an “Easy Ride” and a “Medium Ride”. At 5.5 miles and 700 feet of climb, the Easy Ride is a true beginner’s trail ride which is focused on the dirt roads with a small amount of easy single track. The “Medium Ride” is actually not very big but takes in just about every trail in the park, providing a nice variety in a short 9 miles with 1500 feet of climb. Restrooms at the main parking lot.
In the wet season: Trails are selectively closed after a rain.
Directions: The main entrance is on Arastradero Rd, 0.8 miles south of the Page Mill Rd. exit from I-280. A Link to the parking location in Google Maps is here. Three other entrances exist but the main entrance has the only parking lot.
